According to Eckhart Tolle (author of "The Power of Now"), most people are not really present in the moment. They are either preoccupied with thoughts about the past or the future or they lose themselves in daydreams, worries or fears. This lack of presence and awareness can lead to feelings of unhappiness, dissatisfaction and disconnection from self and others.
Tolle emphasises the importance of living in the present moment and realising that the present moment is all that exists. By focusing on the now, we can free ourselves from the burdens of the past and the fears of the future and find a deeper sense of peace and fullfillment.
In our work with Cacao - especially when sharing her medicine and holding spaces for others - PRESENCE is the ultimate key to creating a safe, sacred and transformative space!
It is necessary to cultivate a state of inner stillness and presence in order to connect with spirit - ours, Cacao's and other people's.
By learning to cultivate this presence and awareness outside of ceremony, we can experience a deeper sense of peace, fullfillment and contentment in our lives. And truly embody the most significant quality that cacao brings to our lives.
Practicing presence involves focusing on the present moment, activating your senses, practicing mindfulness meditation, cultivating gratitude, letting go of distractions, and being patient with yourself and others. By integrating mindfulness practices into your daily life, you can cultivate a presence.
BUT: Don't let these practices become another distraction or a new item on your to-do list!
Allow yourself to surrender to the now while cacao helps you to accept and embrace whatever is
Cacao can be a helpful tool for promoting presence and mindfulness.
Here are some ways in which cacao may help with being more present in the moment:
1. Cacao contains compounds that promote relaxation: Cacao contains several compounds that can promote relaxation, such as theobromine and anandamide. These compounds can help calm the mind and promote a sense of relaxation, which can be beneficial for mindfulness and presence.
2. Cacao can enhance mood: Cacao contains compounds that can enhance mood, such as phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a compound that can stimulate the release of endorphins. By promoting feelings of pleasure and happiness, cacao may help reduce stress and anxiety, allowing us to be more present in the moment.
3. Cacao can promote heart-centered awareness: Theobroma Cacao´s name giver, the molecule theobromine, stimulates our cardiovascular system, thereby gently raises the heart beat and therefore helps us become more aware of our heart. By bringing our attention to our heart space , which and cultivating feelings of love and compassion we are creating heart-centered awareness, which helps us to cultivate a sense of connection with ourselves and others and stay present in the NOW.
4. Cacao can be used in mindful rituals: As you know Cacao can be incorporated into mindful rituals and practices such as meditation, breathwork, and visualization. By engaging in these practices and enchaining them with cacao, we cultivate presence and mindfulness.

TODAYS TASK:
Become aware of when you are present in the moment or on the contrary, when are you restless, distracted, and with your thoughts in the past or future?
Practice presence in your life, especially in those seemingly boring moments that you would prefer to fill with scrolling, checking messages or doing practices.
Check in with yourself and why it is that you wish to escape the present moment.
Is it impatience? Boredom? Stress or Anxiety? What feeling lies underneath?

Yes, this is so true - awareness without judgement.
I feel Cacao definitely wants us to focus on the now for sure, now is where the magic happens!
For me especially, Cacao doesn't want me to worry (or 'pre-judge') about my upcoming ceremony, or of my (judgements of) my past which may limit my beliefs, she wants me to connect to her here and now, and this comes again back to trust, trust that the present has all you need right now - the more you trust the more you're present and the more your present the more you will hear her guidance, and then you'll trust even more - it's all connected!
This is why I'm in this dieta - trust and presence - perfect!
I trust Cacao and me now, right in this moment, in the gift of the present.
