And to be honest part of that passion comes from a deep felt injustice about people earning money or profiting in some way from modalities be it cacao or whatever without even thinking about to properly educate themselves and apprentice and put energy into gaining experience and really thinking things through. It infuriates me that this is our norm today. I am totally not someone who thinks we should rely on certificates or institutions to tell us that we are now adequately trained as this is a problem of before, a dependency on external validation and don’t even get me started on institutional issues. BUT when we don’t certify or protect a title or simply create new jobs without established standards then it becomes our own responsibility to be in integrity and create a world of trust. I am truly passionate about that for sure and it sometimes makes me sad to see that we are not there yet in the collective but i also obviously have many amazing people around me that do care, it just needs time I think.
I feel the same about my yoga practice and certifications. I am amazed at the amount of people that sign up and complete yoga training without hanging a solid private practice of their own. They might learn the techniques but there is an absence of the felt sense within the body. People seem more interested in a certificate than the time and experience of learning a craft. I am interested in learning more about weaving cacao into my future offerings. My curiosity and ideas are bubbling. ❤️
Dear Blythe, you summed it up so perfectly. The need for certificates is big in a world of needing to proof yourself or even worse your self worth. Truly a huge issue hence why I moved away from offering certification - it’s just someone signing a piece of paper that truly is meaningless like money is, it’s the value that is associated with it that makes it important in our society but we can shift that to value embodied experience and continuous devotion.
My students and grads are truly why I do this work for, I think I would have given up long ago if it wouldn’t have proven so beneficial for so many so thank you! For showing up for cacao and yourself, amongst the mama chaos and in sacred pause circles, you are the change!
I must admit I use cacao and oat milk together for my daily drinks rather than water. I'm wondering now what oat milk isn't recommended. I don't remember that from my training.
You can use whatever you wish for your personal daily preference. I simply want to make people aware that good quality cacao contains 40-50% cacao butter so a) there is no need for added creaminess b) it actually dilutes the frothyness c) it changes the effect, doesn’t block it but prolongs it which is great for long work days but not for ceremonies d) unless you make your own oat milk is a highly processed food with lots of unnecessary add-ons and even unhealthy ones like seed oils and sugar which to me simply doesn’t make sense to use when you already spend money on an incredible super food and valuable product such as ceremonial cacao
Thank you for explaining this. I’m amazed at the deliciousness and earthiness in a simple cup of Cacao prepared with water. I was surprised that I prefer it without sweetener. ❤️
Woohooo another one in camp pure yeyyy! Once you really revel in the taste it becomes so smooth, earthy and almost floral and the effect is profoundly different - plus it really helps to get rid of sugar addiction over time as your taste buds adjust and the bitterness is very healthy for liver as well
Love your passion and fierce protectiveness for Cacao… exactly why I am so glad that I invested in your training. Thank you xxxx
